Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. We've kept it direct — no legalese padding.
myClosingCost, LLC operates myClosingCost.com, a free closing cost calculator for US residential real estate. We are not a real estate brokerage, title company, mortgage lender, or data broker.
When you use the calculator without an account: We process the property address and sale price you enter to calculate estimates. We do not store this data linked to your identity — addresses are used to look up tax rates and immediately discarded.
When you create an account (Google Sign-In): We store your Google account name, email address, and profile photo. We store any property calculations you explicitly save.
When you request an agent introduction: We record which agents you selected and create single-use contact tokens that allow you to reveal your contact information to a specific agent. We log the date and time of any contact token you use (i.e., when you click a Phone or Email button in our introduction email).
Agent accounts include: name, email, phone, brokerage name, license number, license state, commission structure, profile photo (optional), biography (optional), and Stripe payment information (processed and stored by Stripe — we do not store card numbers). We also store which zip codes and price brackets each agent has registered for, and records of introduction events for billing purposes.
Consumer data is used to: deliver closing cost estimates; enable account features (saving calculations); facilitate connections with agents you actively choose; and improve the accuracy of our rate database (aggregated, never individual).
Agent data is used to: display your profile to consumers in your registered markets; process subscription and introduction fee billing; communicate with you about your account and introductions; and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data to: target you with advertising; build behavioral profiles for sale; train AI models without your consent; or contact you for any purpose unrelated to the service.
We share data only as follows:
• Stripe: payment processing for agent billing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
• Google (OAuth): authentication for consumer accounts. We receive only the data Google provides at login (name, email, photo).
• Resend: transactional email delivery (introduction emails, billing receipts). Resend does not use your email for its own marketing.
• Agent ↔ Consumer contact: when a consumer clicks a contact button in an introduction email, their name and the chosen contact method (email address or phone number) are shared with that specific agent only. No other agents receive this information.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other commercial party.
Consumer account data is retained until you delete your account. Address calculations not linked to an account are not stored beyond the session. Agent subscription records are retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance. Introduction records are retained for 3 years. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 9).
We use session cookies only for authentication (to keep you signed in). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that build behavioral profiles. We use Vercel Analytics (privacy-preserving, no personal data collected) to understand aggregate page traffic.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Agent passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Consumer accounts use Google OAuth — we never see or store your Google password. Our database is hosted on Neon PostgreSQL with encryption at rest. We conduct periodic security reviews.
You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; and opt out of any non-essential communications. To exercise any of these rights, email support@myclosingcost.com. We respond within 30 days. Consumers can also delete their account directly from account settings (coming soon). Agents can cancel their subscription at any time; account data deletion available on request.
myClosingCost is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support@myclosingcost.com and we will delete it promptly.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information. To submit a CCPA request, email support@myclosingcost.com with "CCPA Request" in the subject line.
We will post material changes on this page and notify registered users by email at least 30 days before changes take effect.
